Art's formative years were spent in Brooklyn, where he began playing guitar before his 7th birthday. By the time he was 19, he was already a noted NYC session musician, playing on everything from soda jingles to wedding bands to Yes cover bands. Art broke ground with such legendary NYC groups as "Will Work for Food", "Sweet Willis" and "Monistat 7". Even though Art now lives in Portland; the Cyclone, Nathan's and Coney Island freak shows live in his blood. There has always been an element of 1970's NYC rock in Art's writing style. As you listen to Art's compositions such as North Beach Drifter and A Lot Like You, you can feel the city grit, the emotion and the pulse. It is Art's writing style that combines the Vanilla Fudge and Pink Floyd element to the music....a jazzy, yet spacey classic rock sound... Today, Art lives in Porland with his family. He works in the travel and entertainment industries, and has worked with numerous acts such as Journey, Steve Miller and Buddy Guy. |
