Feb 2, 2003...Jay Strauss to join Mineral Kings 2003 Tour!!
|
The Mineral Kings are proud to announce that Bay Area guitar hero Jay Strauss will be joining the band for the 2003 tour. The tour is set to kick off in May, 2003. Jay originally played lead guitar on the Mineral Kings' first release, Tales of the Wailing Yackbone and since then has played with Bay Area bands such as The Numbers, The Following Joys and Kaboom. This completes the tour line up, with Art Forte playing bass and Tony Ṃṛsini on drums. Singer Carv Tefft was quoted, "After auditioning about 20 drummers, we realized we couldn't recreate Metropolis without Tony on the drums, so we agreed Tony would play drums instead of guitar on the tour. Art is the natural bass player for the live band, and Jay is an A+ guitar player, a good friend, and was already familiar with the Kings. We are very lucky to have Jay." Jay Strauss was quoted as saying, "These guys made me an offer I couldn't refuse, and I'm happy to once again be part of the Mineral Kings' family."

10/15/02 - Well it only took 18 months, but we're done. We're hoping to have Metropolis for sale by late November at the latest. You'll notice we have some screen shots of the new cover on the site. We were lucky enough to get artist and pop culture icon Aubrey Ankrum to do the cover and we're all blown away by how great it looks. Next weekend is the photoshoot and we should be ready to start duplication in two more weeks at the most.
